Kaley Cuoco's LA home is packed with character

As her hit TV series The Big Bang Theory comes to an end after a marathon 12 seasons, Kaley Cuoco – who played Penny on the show and earned $36 million last year doing it – has just dropped the price of her six bedroom, nine bathroom Los Angeles mansion. She listed it three months ago at $10.25 million, but recently re-listed at $8.84 million (according to Dirt). A saving of $1.41 million for any interested buyers.

The LA mansion Kaley Cuoco has re-listed.

Given that Cuoco purchased the property from Khloé Kardashian for $8.1 million in 2014, a mere $740,000 probably isn’t the return on investment she was hoping for – especially since she spent $1.5 million upgrading and decorating it to her specific taste with interior designer Jeff Andrews (who also kitted the place out for Khloé Kardashian when she lived here). However, fretting over money might not be in Cuoco’s repertoire anymore; she recently married professional equestrian and son-of-a-billionaire, Karl Cook.

The property is in a guarded, gated community.

So what does Cuoco’s specific taste involve? By the looks of things, clashing patterns and lots of wall-mounted televisions. She did purchase a few of Kardashian’s furnishings when she moved in, but touches like the bronze-and-leather swing seat and horse memorabilia are all her own.

In honour of her equestrian husband, there are a lot of horses. The walls of the breakfast nook are completely covered in horse-print Hermès wallpaper, while the ceiling is decorated with a golden branch design. The neighbouring kitchen walls have a different pattern again. The whole effect is a little, well, busy.

Cuoco has also carried patterned wallpaper up across the ceilings in several rooms, as well as on the walls, which may not every everybody’s particular taste. This is definitely the home of a maximalist.

The grand two-storey entrance features more patterned wallpaper, as well as a sweeping, curved staircase with a wrought-iron bannister.

There are at least eight wall-mounted televisions in the home, including a home theatre and a large TV in the laundry.

The laundry has a television, two washing machines and two dryers.

The master bedroom features a mirror down one entire wall, an en suite with a spa, a fireplace and three walk-in closets. Three. It’s enough to accommodate a Kardashian…

Outside, the Mediterranean-style villa has a pool and water feature, a fire pit, another spa, and an outdoor kitchen and bar.

The pool area has striped sun loungers and umbrellas.

The property is located in a guarded, gated community specifically designed for Hollywood’s rich and famous – so it will be interesting to see who the new owner will be.
