Inside Pandora’s exclusive brand relaunch event in Los Angeles
On August 28, 2019, Pandora, the popular jewellery brand renowned for charms and charm bracelets, held an exclusive day-long pink-hued relaunch event in Los Angeles.
The multi-faceted event included an influencer and model-filled party featuring performances from SZA, Charli XCX and a DJ set by Luka Sabbat, along with a vibrant street activation called “Street of Loves” in an alley between South Grand Avenue and Hope Street in downtown Los Angeles.
The Street of Loves featured a street artwork which, per a press release from the brand, Pandora had exclusively commissioned from a collective of female artists “led by street art activist and creator of the famed , C. Finley.”
According to the release, the day-long event had a “theme of confidence and self-expression” in line with the brand’s new positioning to “empower women around the world to voice, share and celebrate their loves and passions”.
Over 400 guests attended the relaunch, which also coincided with the release of Pandora’s autumn 2019 collection. The new collection includes the introduction of a new pendant, the Pandora O pendant and, as stated in the brand’s release, “the circular symbol [of the pendant] represents the unifying power of jewellery and its limitless personal expressions.”
On the day of the relaunch, Pandora’s chief creative and brand officer, Stephen Fairchild, shared the brand’s new vision with guests at the event, saying, “At Pandora, we champion the empowerment of women and the sharing of their passions with collectible, contemporary collections that allow people to come together and celebrate what makes them who they are. We all have a story to tell and each of our new, hand-finished charms will represent a different love”.
Attendees at the relaunch included the brand’s newly-appointed muses — actress Nathalie Emmanuel, model Georgia May Jagger, Australian-born fashion creative Margaret Zhang, model Halima Aden, actress and model Larsen Thompson, and photographer and artist Tasya van Ree — along with Victoria’s Secret models Shanina Shaik and Georgia Fowler. Fellow Australian model Bambi Northwood-Blyth was also on the guest list at the event.
