Braun Strowman vs. Lashley Set for WWE ‘Super ShowDown’
Braun Strowman versus Lashley has been set for WWE’s upcoming Super ShowDown on June 7. The two Superstars have had problems before on Monday Night Raw, though an angle hasn’t specifically happened to set up this match.
This is only the third bout to be announced for the event, which takes place in Saudi Arabia. That fact alone has been enough to turn many fans off, thanks to the controversy surrounding the events of 2018.
The government of Saudi Arabia was in the headlines last year for all the wrong reasons. That’s because of Suaid journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder. The C.I.A. revealed in November of 2018 that Khashoggi’s death was ordered by the Saudi Crown Prince himself.
WWE was heavily criticized for moving forward with the Crown Jewel event, despite criticism from fans and social media outlets alike. The company has a 10-year deal with Saudi Arabia and that deal doesn’t appear to be in any danger of ending.
Many WWE fans also continue to be upset because of Saudi’s treatment of women, which prohibits female Superstars from performing in the ring. But that does not appear to be changing either. WWE is indeed moving ahead with the Super ShowDown, which includes the dream match of Goldberg versus The Undertaker.
