August 7, 2021 Off By HotelSalesCareers

WWE will be taping another round of NXT television episodes tonight at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL which should begin rolling out next Wednesday night on the WWE Network. We’ll have complete results from tonight’s television taping down below, which should kick off around 7:00PM ET.

— Stacey Ervin Jr. def. Shane Thorne

— Johnny Gargano came out and wished everyone a happy New Year. He talked about his 2018, and how becoming a champion in 2019 was his primary goal. He mentions what happened inside the steel cage last month and called it a “one time thing”, calling Ciampa a piece of garbage, before turning his sights to Ricochet and the NXT North American Championship.

— Ricochet came out and said all Gargano had to do was ask, but wanted to know if he planned on facing him like a man in the ring, or attacking him from behind in the parking lot. Ciampa came out to interrupt them but Gargano told him to shut up and leave. The lights went out and Aleister Black appeared, attacking Ciampa. As the two brawled, Gargano used the distraction to leave Ricochet lying with a superkick.

— Bianca Belair def. Nikki Cross in a solid 10-12 minute match. Dueling chants between “UNDEFEATED” and “OVERRATED” for Belair throughout the match. This seemed like a goodbye moment for Nikki as she spent some time with the crowd afterwards and they all chanted “THANK YOU NIKKI!”

— Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel def. Hector Kunsmen & Stanley Watts

— Adam Cole def. EC3

— The Undisputed Era came out to attack EC3, but the War Raiders made the save.

— The Street Profits def. The Metro Bros.

— The Forgotten Sons came out and attacked The Street Profits after their match.

— Bianca Belair came out and talked about sending Nikki packing from NXT (so I guess that was a send-off match), and turning her attention to winning the NXT Women’s Championship at Takeover: Phoenix. Shayna Baszler came out with the Four Horsewomen (two of them, anyways) and said she didn’t get the hype behind Belair. She said she was going to change her vocabulary from “undefeated” to “overrated”, which got the crowd chanting again. Belair slapped her in the face and walked off.

— Dominik Dijakovic def. Adrian Jaoude

— Johnny Gargano def. Humberto Carrillo

— Kassius Ohno def. Keith Lee will a low blow. Ohno continued to attack him until Matt RIddle came out to make the save.

— Velveteen Dream made his return for the first time since WarGames, and said he wanted to win the NXT North American title. He was cut off by Adam Cole and Bobby Fish, who also want to win gold in 2019 to complete the Undisputed Era’s sweep of the NXT brand. They go to attack him, but Dream escapes.

— Lacey Evans def. Xia Li

— Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch def. Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner

— Io Shirai & Kairi Sane def. Amber Nova & Tenae Brooks

— Velveteen Dream def. Bobby Fish

— Ricochet came out and complained about Johnny Gargano blindsiding him with a superkick. Gargano came out and the two nearly came to blows, but Ciampa interrupted them and attacked Ciampa from behind. Aleister Black ran out to make the save, but Gargano saved Ciampa and the two left him lying. They walked up the ramp together and went to shake hands, but Candice LeRae ran out and stopped her husband.

— Ricochet, Heavy Machinery & Aleister Black def. The Undisputed Era
