WWE Announces Official Rules For NXT TakeOver WarGames Match

During NXT this week it was announced that WarGames will be returning to the upcoming NXT TakeOver WarGames event, taking place on November 18th, one night before Survivor Series, in Houston, TX.

The match will see Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong take on the Undisputed Era and SAnitY. For many fans, they have never experienced a WarGames match, which was made famous in WCW.

WWE has since announced the official rules for the match, allowing the WWE Universe to know exactly what is going on heading into WWE Survivor Series weekend.

The Rules 

All three teams will be contained inside separate shark cages by the entranceway, with a member from each team (as chosen by his respective squad) starting the match.After five minutes, the remaining members from one team will be released from their shark cage and allowed to enter the match. When another three-minute period elapses, the remaining members from a second team are released from their shark cage and enter the match. Following another three-minute period, the final team’s members are released from their shark cage and enter the match.Once all three teams have entered the WarGames Match, a victory can be attained via pinfall or submission.This means that there has been a slight change to the original rules, with teams being able to win via pinfall, whereas in the past WarGames were submission only.
