Land-sailing president offers Christophe Galtier & PSG bizarre solution to private jet polemic
As reported by RMC Sport, after PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s sarcastic, and controversial response to a question on the Parisian squad’s non-environmentally friendly transport arrangements – France’s Land-sailing president, Christophe Roger, has proposed to take the PSG squad on an introduction course in the nautical sport, saying the following:
“I am pleased to announce that we can go to Nantes from Paris in a sand yacht. It only takes nine hours, a good and constant wind. It’s really cheaper. Between 100€ and 150€, with a carbon footprint equal to 0.”
He has proposed that the Squad be taken to an airbase in Essonne, where they can receive instruction on the sport which involves a car on wheels which is propelled by a wind-powered sail.
In his press conference yesterday afternoon ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League opener against Juventus tomorrow night, manager Christophe Galtier was asked about the squad’s use of a private jet.
The question notably concerned the team’s trip to Nantes over the weekend, whch they travelled to by air despite the city being two hours away by train from the capital. The director of TGV – France’s high-speed trains – criticised this after seeing a video of Marco Verratti in the plane and said that they would be willing to make the necessary arrangements for the team to travel by train.

After initially bursting into laughter alongside Kylian Mbappé, the coach then gave a sarcastic answer:
“I thought I would get that question. To be very honest with you, this morning we spoke with the company that organises our trips, and we’re trying to see if we can travel by sand yacht.”
The reaction has drawn criticism, with sports minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra notably stating that “M. Galtier, we’re used to more relevant and responsible answers from you – shall we speak about this?”.
