Wesley Saïd tells Toulouse board that he wants out

L’Équipe report that 25-year-old French attacker Wesley Saïd has informed his club Toulouse, who were recently relegated to Ligue 2, that he wants to leave this summer.

He was bought last summer from Dijon for a club record fee of €8m, in what was surely a major casting error by Les Violets, for a player who never showed much of anything over the course of the 2019/20 campaign.

He has informed his board that he wants their adventure together to come to an end in the coming weeks.

The club’s new American investors’ whose purchase of Toulouse should be official in the coming days, view Saïd as a crucial element to a rebuilding project. However, he rejects this notion and wants to play in a stronger division that the French 2nd tier – in France or abroad.
