Anthony Martial met with José Mourinho last week – the outcome

French forward Anthony Martial met with Manchester United manager José Mourinho several days ago to discuss his future, according to SFR Sport.

The former AS Monaco man asked the Portuguese for two things in this meeting: to give him a little more patience and for increased playing time this season.

Martial then allegedly followed that up in this meeting by asking if Mourinho counted on him this season or whether it would be better for him to find another club.

Mourinho’s response was apparently emphatic, that he did count on him this season and that he wanted him to stay.

There is was no mention on the TV channel this evening as to whether or not Mourinho had promised him a certain amount of playing time.

Manchester United have turned down bids from Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan this summer for the Frenchman.
