If you ever wanted to see a living example of irony, you should have been in Delhi last night. As the city is grappling with existential anxiety in terms of high pollution levels, people just refused to take preventive measures to curb pollution. Well, some actually did; they were out in the open, bursting firecrackers with pollution masks covering their noses. Those who were really concernedwere left baffled at the sheer hypocrisy of such people.

Many people had volunteered to refrain themselves from bursting crackers during the festival for the greater good for them and others. Various efforts have been made to encourage people to observe a pollution-free Diwali in Delhi

Given this scenario, it is ironic to see people wearing protective masks bursting crackers in Delhi.
