Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently planning their next overseas trip, with the couple set to undertake an international royal tour to Africa.

According to Vanity Fair’s royal expert, Katie Nicholl, the Duchess of Sussex will return to royal duties in October, when she joins her husband, Prince Harry, on a trip to southern Africa.

The tour comes at the request of the British government and while Buckingham Palace is yet to confirm the visit, the couple are said to be off to Angola and Malawi. Vanity Fair is also reporting they’ll make a special stop in Botswana, which is where the couple fell in love and also where Prince Harry sourced some of the diamonds included in his wife’s engagement ring.

“While the final itinerary for the fall tour is being pinned down by Buckingham Palace aides, the trip is at the request of the British Foreign Office and is expected to focus on youth empowerment, education and conservation causes close to the couple’s hearts,” writes Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl. She adds that Prince Harry has been interested in continuing his mother’s work in the area too.

“Harry has made it a personal mission to continue his mother, Princess Diana’s, work to highlight the efforts of the landmine clearing organization HALO Trust; the late Princess of Wales visited Angola in January 1997, months before her death. Harry has spoken about wanting to continue his mother’s work and travelled to Angola in 2013 to learn more about their work.”

It is not known yet whether the couple will take baby Archie along, although that should be revealed in due course.

At the moment, the Duchess of Sussex is still on maternity leave, while the Duke of Sussex cut his paternity leave short in order to continue royal duties. The couple have reportedly hired a nanny, who will step up even further once the duchess returns to work.

Now, we wait for confirmation from the palace, as well as an itinerary, which should reveal a date that is expected to mark the Duchess of Sussex’s official return to work.
