When watching a show called Friends about a 20-something group of pals, who are so close they’re like family, it’s hard to believe those same tight relationships don’t exist between the actors in real life.

And it turns out that on that particular set, even 15 years after the hit show’s last episode aired in 2004, the friendship was and is 100 per cent real.

Over the weekend, Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller on the beloved award-winning sitcom, celebrated turning 55 with her Friends co-stars and real-life buddies, Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay).

Cox shared a selfie of the famous trio with the caption: “How lucky am I to celebrate my birthday with these two??? I love you girls. So much ♥️”

Kudrow, 55, echoed Cox’s sentiments, replying to Cox’s post by writing: “LOVE you girls! Happy happy Court.”

The actress also posted a birthday tribute to her pal Cox on her own Instagram account, sharing a funny photo of the two of them with the caption: “Just remembering Court, I will ALWAYS be older than you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY lovely Courteney!!!”

Aniston, who recently turned 50 and celebrated with a star-studded bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles attended by among others, Courteney Cox, doesn’t have an Instagram account, but we’re sure the actress feels exactly the same way. Cox and Aniston are frequently spotted out and about together in Los Angeles and at Hollywood events, often as each other’s plus ones, and have always been very open about their close friendship.

While many fans of the show have been vocal about their wish for a reboot, even if that never happens, given how close these three are and how frequently they catch up, it’s kind of like they’re keeping the dream alive just by being such good pals in real life.

As for how Cox celebrated this milestone birthday, reports the actress held a dinner attended by Kudrow, Aniston,  jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer and David Spade.
