Vikings enter the match at 5-3 overall, 4-3 NSIC
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The regular season comes to a close for the No. 14 Augustana wrestling team with its toughest test of the year on Thursday, when the Vikings host top-ranked and defending national champion St. Cloud State inside the Elmen Center at 7 p.m.
Thursday also marks Senior Night for the Vikings, as Augustana will honor its four seniors on the 2018-19 roster.
The Vikings enter the dual with a 5-3 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the Northern Sun Conference, while the Huskies come to Sioux Falls with an unblemished mark of 19-0, which includes a 7-0 record in the NSIC and an overall winning streak of 47 straight dual wins, dating back to Jan. 14, 2017, with a 31-10 win over Findlay, and a 60-match NSIC winning streak, which dates back to Jan. 27, 2011, an 18-13 loss to Augustana.
Augustana split a pair of competitive duals during the final road trip of the season last weekend, falling 18-17 on Saturday at U-Mary, before bouncing back with a 21-18 win at Minot State on Sunday.
