Backstage News on Hardys Joining WWE Soon

For a number of weeks now Matt and Jeff Hardy has been reportedly returning to the WWE sooner rather than later. It was previously reported that the two brothers were in negotiations with WWE but did not sign any agreements, instead choosing a relatively short term deal with ROH, however, WWE has now apparently formally put a contract in front of them. According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, Matt and Jeff Hardy now have official offers on the table from WWE. Most believe it is a matter of “when, not if” the Hardy’s re-appear in WWE, as they are believed to be ready to become free agents again soon
There is an issue at hand though which is the ongoing legal dispute with Anthem/Impact over rights to the “Broken” characters and trademark which seems far from settled. There have been multiple tweets from Reby Hardy going ballistic on Anthem/ Impact regarding their actions and the way they have handled this issue.

But from some of the tweets of the Hardys they would give us some cryptic messages that they will still use their “Broken” characters. Also Matt Hardy’s online store which sold merchandise for the Hardy’s and located at shopmatthardy.com announced that they have closed up shop with the following tweet:

According to sources, the reason for the shop closing down is indeed related to a potential contract signed with WWE and their jump to the promotion. When asked about whether WWE was “maybe” the reason behind the closure, Dave Meltzer responded on Twitter with “not maybe, definitely” the reason.
For what it’s worth, with WWE teasing the Hardy’s arrival by emphasizing the word “Broken” in a recent tweet, the plan certainly appears to be for the brothers to use the gimmick in WWE.
As reported recently, rumors are swirling that the Hardy’s are WWE bound, perhaps as early as this Sunday’s WrestleMania 33 PPV.
From a contract perspective, the Hardy’s can debut with the WWE at anytime the company wants them to with the only question remaining what day that will be and what brand they will be on.
