The Queen has never seen inside her own wardrobe

If you’re anything like us, at times you dream about what the royal family’s wardrobes look like. All of those royal engagements call for a wide selection of looks, which has us wondering where the clothes are stored?
One of The Queen’s former butlers has shared insight into this, including the fascinating fact that unlike us, Her Majesty has never seen inside her wardrobe before!
“[The Queen] has to have her outfits brought down to her, all her clothes are kept on the top floor,” former royal butler Paul Burrell told Yahoo.
Instead of travelling up to the top level of Buckingham Palace, The Queen’s wardrobe assistant brings her two outfit selections and she chooses her favourite look, which later appears in her room for dressing.
“Her dresser will bring down in the morning two outfits, which are sketched with pieces of material clipped to them so that The Queen can remember whether it’s silk or cotton or wool,” Burrell revealed.
“The one the Queen picks is the one which is brought downstairs from up above so she doesn’t actually see her wardrobe with clothes in it.”
This news is certainly fascinating but we have to admit, we feel The Queen is really missing out! With the large range of custom-made colourful outfits she possesses, we’re picturing her wardrobe as an incredible, rainbow-coloured array of pieces taking up an entire floor of the palace.
Then again, as we know, The Queen is very particular when it comes to dressing, having a preferred handbag (custom-made by Launer) and shoe (she loves a Gucci loafer!), so it’s really no wonder there is a specific system in place.
