All 24 squad members in France training tonight
Despite a raft of players suffering from flu over the course of the week, five in total (Raphaël Varane, Kingsley Coman, Ibrahima Konaté, Dayot Upamecano & Adrien Rabiot), and two individuals suffering yesterday from knocks sustained during the semi-final vs Morocco (Théo Hernandez – knee | Aurélien Tchouaméni – hip), Les Bleus have all 24 players in this evening’s training session, 1 day ahead of the World Cup final vs Argentina.
L’Équipe had previously reported this morning that whilst Konaté & Varane were expected to return to training this evening, Kingsley Coman was expected to remain in his room as his flu symptoms continued to be severe.
Didier Deschamps’ only selection headache for tomorrow is whether to start Dayot Upamecano or Ibrahima Konaté alongside Varane in the French back four. Théo Hernandez is the only left-back in the squad following withdrawal of his brother Lucas who injured himself in Les Bleus’ opener vs Australia, and it is suspected that, as a result, Deschamps will role the dice on the younger Hernandez, even if he is not fully fit.
