Andy Delort set for Nice return start of November
According to L’Équipe OGC Nice striker Andy Delort is set to return for his side at the start of November, after having suffered a sprained knee against Auxerre last Sunday. Nice striker Andy Delort had to leave the pitch after suffering from an “internal knee sprain with no signs of seriousness”, according to the club’s medical staff. He was taken off injured on Sunday before half-time during Nice’s 1-1 draw with Auxerre in Ligue 1.
The Gym hope to have their top scorer, with six goals, back on the pitch by the start of November. Delort (30) had recently returned to the Algerian national team – a year following his decision to turn down selection to focus on his career at OGC Nice. Delort had withdrawn from the national team since his decision in October 2021 to concentrate on his club career, which caused him to miss the CAN in Cameroon. At the time, his decision provoked incomprehension and anger from manager Belmadi, who went so far as to speak of a “lack of respect”.
But now it looks like he is back in the frame for both his club and his country.
