ASI’s Toilet Construction Threatens Hyderabad’s Golconda Fort While Turning A Blind Eye On Encroachments

It is quite ironic that the Archeological Survey of India (ASI), a body which is tasked to protect historic locations and monuments are resorting to actions that could lead to the destruction of them.

The construction of a toilet complex by ASI in Hyderabad’s historic Golconda Fort has courted controversy.

The 600-sq-feet toilet complex is being built near the Inner Fort, which is a Protected Monuments of National Importance. Though the construction has not affected the view of the fort, the large scale construction has already damaged the rock formations in the complex.
