Away from Washington, Democrats try to sell impeachment to an uncertain nation
David Bennett is an impeachment sceptic. Despite being a lifelong Democrat he feels uncomfortable with the party leadership’s attempt to turf out Donald Trump before his term is done.
“I really think it’s going to backlash,” the 66-year-old says, pondering the implications of the historic move from a coffee shop on the outskirts of Oklahoma City.
"We’re going to end up with another four years of Trump, because they just can’t help themselves.”
Mr Bennett, a business teacher and former army reservist, has always been drawn to the ideals of the Democratic Party, that a “rising tide lifts all boats”.
