Bunnings (yes, Bunnings) has released a seriously chic and considered homewares collection

Faux fur hides, cushions, blankets, and rugs from Bunnings’ new line.

When it comes to affordable houseplants, sausage sizzles, and television commercials featuring everyday Australians, Bunnings reigns supreme – but now the DIY warehouse is also getting into the market for homewares and soft furnishings.

Cushions and floor rugs with rich texture are part of the new Smart Home Products collection.

Bunnings are switching things up, launching more than 75 new products including wool rugs, faux fur hides, cushions, blankets and rattan pendant lights. They’ll only be available for a limited time, indicating that it might be a consumer experiment to see if people can associate The Big B with more than power tools and forcefully suburban outdoor furniture.

Cushions come in a range of cream, blue and grey shades.

Called the Smart Home Products range, the collection includes hand-woven wool rugs for as little as $169, waffle cushions in four different colours for $9 each, and pretty throw rugs for $12.

Woven laundry hampers and wicker baskets are part of the new range.

Storage solutions are also available, like garment racks, wicker and woven baskets, as well as a Flexi Storage Living grey ottoman that retails for between $15 and $29 (pictured below).

There’s also a timber swing seat for $19.55 (pictured below) that would make a sweet addition to a child’s bedroom – though depending on the sort of child you have, it might be an even sweeter addition to a garden where they can’t scuff the walls or knock anything over.

The collection includes colourful rugs for children’s rooms and a timber swing seat.

At time of writing the full range of products wasn’t listed on the Bunnings website, so it might be a bit of a lucky dip depending on where you live. Call your local store to see if they carry the Smart Home Products line before hotfooting in it there with plans to overhaul the living room.
