Christophe Galtier compares himself to Dany Boon whilst reflecting on start of tenure at PSG

Speaking to RMC Sport this evening on his first few months in charge of Paris Saint-Germain, manager Christophe Galtier reflected on his first few months in charge of PSG – in what has been an overly positive start to his tenure, despite some negative reaction on his non-flashy manner and coaching style. The following was transcribed by Le Parisien:

“I heard someone say the analogy that PSG were waiting for George Clooney and Dany Boon came in. I wish a lot of people could be more like Dany Boon… But I was chosen by the president. I feel legitimate.”

Since coming into the club, Galtier has managed to keep a lid on the egos of his top players, and has managed to transform his side on the pitch into a more robust side that currently sits at the top (as expected) of Ligue 1 and is into the knockout stages of the Champions League (albiet with a difficult tie against Bayern Munich). This season his record with PSG stands at 13 wins, two draws, and zero losses with a points per game of 2.73 (according to FBREF) which has seen a total of 43 goals scored already with only nine conceded. It would be safe to say it’s a promising start for Mr Galtier.
