L’Équipe report that 17-year-old central midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has a pact with Rennes that he will not leave the club this summer should the club qualify for Champions’ League football this season.

Contrary to considerable Spanish reporting claiming that talks are ongoing between Real Madrid and the relevant parties over a potential Eduardo Camavinga deal, the French outlet reports that absolutely zero contact has occurred to date.

It was Olivier Létang, the now departed Rennes president, who got Camavinga to agree to stay in the event that SRFC qualified for the Champions’ League for next season. They currently sit 3rd in the Ligue 1 table and if the status quo was maintained, then they would indeed appear in Europe’s most prestigious competition next season.

If Rennes however fail to do so, the teenager isn’t ruling out any eventuality. Real Madrid is an interesting prospect for him, but Barcelona and Manchester City have also made initial enquiries, even if Los Blancos seem to be Camavinga’s preferred destination.

Rennes want at least €60m to €70m in order to even consider a sale.

For Camavinga, all roads currently lead to another full season with the Brittany side.
