Hatem Ben Arfa was considering a Rennes departure until Sabri Lamouchi’s sacking

Le Parisien report this morning that Rennes’ attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa was considering a January departure from the club he joined just recently in August of this year.

The 31-year-old struggled in the early going of this campaign, and when he was benched for the game against Caen (2-1 victory) and taken off after the 68th minute in the 2-2 draw with Montpellier, he was seriously considering seeking a move.

Since the change of manager, to Julien Stéphan, Ben Arfa has completely changed his tune, feeling trust with this new boss who has installed him in the #10 role.
