Jack Swagger Hints That He Could be Joining Impact Wrestling
While speaking to Wrestlezone, former WWE superstar Jack Swagger commented on where he will end up next as he continues on with his wrestling career. While he has confirmed a number of post-WWE appearances, including House of Hardcore later this year, he confessed that he wouldn’t mind working in Impact Wrestling. With his good friend Dutch Mantell, who worked with Swagger as Zeb Colter, working prominently behind the scenes, Swagger hinted that it may not be too long before we see him enter the Impact Zone.
Swagger wrestled for over a decade in WWE to varying levels of success. After joining the main roster back in 2008, he went on to win the ECW Championship, and eventually the Money in the Bank briefcase at Wrestlemania 26. He later cashed in the briefcase successfully against Chris Jericho to become World Heavyweight Champion. After losing the title, Swagger fell down to a lower position on the roster, but did find success when paired with the aforementioned Zeb Colter. After the team ran it’s course, however, Swagger continued to slide down and he never fully recovered. He asked for and was granted his release from WWE back in March this year.
As an accomplished amateur wrestler, Swagger certainly has a ton of experience in the wrestling world, and he seems to think that he still has more to prove. Impact Wrestling has been a place where some former stars, such as Matt Hardy and Drew McIntyre, were able to reinvent themselves and prove just how talented they really are. Whether the same can be said for Swagger remains to be seen, but perhaps WWE could one day find themselves regretting their decision to release Swagger. In any case, Swagger is legally prohibited from joining any major wrestling promotion outside of WWE for 90 days as of March 13th, 2017.
