Jean Lucas nearing Monaco exit
Foot Mercato are reporting that AS Monaco midfielder Jean Lucas (24) is nearing a departure after only making three Ligue 1 starts during the current campaign.
Brazilian midfielder Jean Lucas, who hasn’t featured since the 27th of October, joined Monaco in the summer of 2021 after a successful loan spell at Stade Brestois from Olympique Lyonnais. However, despite playing 39 matches last season, he failed to find consistency and has seen gametime harder to come by this year.
Behind the scenes, the player isn’t happy, according to Foot Mercato, and sporting director Paul Mitchell is looking to find him a new club. Two Brazilian clubs, one of which is Palmeiras, are reportedly interested in bringing the Monaco midfielder back to South America.
Monaco are incidentally interested in Palmeiras midfielder Danilo (21), who has been linked with a move to the Principality club for several months.
As witnessed by Get French Football News, Jean Lucas was absent from Monaco training on Thursday, although the club’s manager Philippe Clement attributed that absence to illness.
