Fabio Paratici has insisted that the midfield duo will remain at the Allianz Stadium until at least the end of the season

Juventus director Fabio Paratici has excluded the possibility of selling Emre Can or Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window.

Both men have been tipped to seek moves away from Turin this month after finding their playing time at Allianz Stadium restricted under Maurizio Sarri.

Summer signing Rabiot has only featured in 10 Serie A matches, and currently sits behind the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Blaise Matuidi and Rodrigo Bentancur in the squad pecking order.

Can, meanwhile, has managed just two starts in the competition this season, and despite having two years left to run on his current contract, it seems that his time with Juve is already drawing to a close.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with the two midfielders recently, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly looking to bolster his options across the middle of the park while the winter market is open.

However, Juve chief Paratici has no intention of letting Can or Rabiot leave the club, as he told Sky Italia: “I can exclude Emre Can leaving, as he will certainly remain with us.

“On an international level, he is one of the most wanted players, but I think he can be important for our project.

“Rabiot arrived here after not playing for eight months. It’s only natural on a physical level he should take time to adapt. He paid the price for that, but he has done well when used.

“We are confident, he is an important player and a guarantee for Juve, not a question mark or a doubt.

“We have an important squad, with a lot of competition for places, and that’s how it should be at this level.”

Juve have been active in the January already, completing a €35 million ($39m, £30m) deal for Atalanta midfielder Dejan Kulusevski, who will remain at Parma on loan until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Paratici was delighted to see the Sweden international sign for the Italian champions and expects him to be an “important player” for the club in the future.

“We would’ve liked to bring him to Juve straight away, but there was already a clear agreement from the start of the negotiations,” he said.

“We are happy and knew full well he’d remain at Parma. He is an important player for the future of Juve and we are very happy with this deal.”
