Kevin Owens to take 'a little break' following WWE Hell in a Cell
Kevin Owens is taking a break following WWE Hell in a Cell.
Owens wrote on Twitter that he would be taking a break following his loss at the pay-per-view, where he lost to Sami Zayn.
“I fought like hell,” he wrote. “Now, I need a little break. I’ll be back soon. Thank you, guys.”
The story of the match had Owens suffering from a storyline throat injury that took place on SmackDown, when he was in a tag match with Big E against Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez. Owens was pinned in that match when Azeez struck him with the Nigerian nail. Owens spent much of the Hell in a Cell match selling the Nigerian nail attack, which ultimately led to a Zayn win after Zayn dropped Owens throat first on the bottom rope, then connected with the helluva kick.

After ultimately losing to Roman Reigns in a feud over the Universal title, Owens once again found himself feuding with Zayn at the start of this year. The two had a match at WrestleMania 37 that also involved Logan Paul. Owens won that match and gave a stunner to Paul afterwards.
