Lyon president Aulas: “OL have no specific needs”

Tweeting in response to L’Équipe’s report on Lyon’s slow transfer window so far, OL president Jean-Michel Aulas played down the idea that the club needed to sell players before making signings this summer.

“No, OL are not waiting to sell before recruiting. OL have no specific needs at this time and have a quality squad with a top academy, loan returns and two arrivals already!”

Lyon have made two first team signings so far this summer – Rennes’ stalwart Ligue 1 defender Damien Da Silva (33) and left-back Henrique (27) from Vasco da Gama. Both on free transfers. While major loan returns include Moussa Dembélé (25) fresh from playing a minor role in Atlético Madrid’s La Liga title win, Joachim Anderson (25) after impressing with Fulham in the Premier League despite relegation and Jeff Reine-Adélaïde (23) who suffered a serious knee injury at OGC Nice.
