Ouest-France and 20 Minutes report that Marseille President Jacques-Henri Eyraud has caved last minute to Nantes President Waldemar Kita’s demands to include a 50% sell-on fee percentage clause in the deal to sign 24-year-old midfield talent Valentin Rongier.

Rongier has been in Marseille since early this afternoon, after Les Canaris authorised the player to travel. OM and FCN agreed to a €15m fee, with €2m in easily attainable bonuses, but haggled for hours over a sell-on percentage clause.

OM were only willing to go up to 30%, but caved last minute to Kita’s insistence that Nantes should have 50%.

A deal should be official in the coming hours. The two clubs are not put under the pressure of the midnight deadline as each club can carry out one domestic transfer during the “Joker” transfer window that begins tomorrow and ends in December.
