Marseille’s Jordan Amavi set to join Olympiacos on loan

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Marseille’s Jordan Amavi (28) is set to join Olympiacos on loan. The deal will include an option to buy the French left-back. 

Amavi spent the second half of last season on loan at Ligue 1 rivals OGC Nice. On his return to the Riviera club, where he rose through the ranks, he made 8 appearances. However, on his return to Mediterranean rivals Marseille, he is yet to feature this season and he is now set for another loan move. 

His move to Olympiacos is now set to be completed. According to Romano, a “full agreement” is in place, and he will make the move to Greece on loan. The deal will include an option, but not an obligation, to turn the loan move into a permanent deal. 

Amavi has seen himself slip down the pecking order at the Orange Vélodrome since the arrival of Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares on loan.
