Newcastle have been trying to offload Rémy Cabella all summer long

According to today’s edition of L’Équipe, Newcastle’s new manager Steve McClaren has been trying to offload French attacking midfielder Rémy Cabella throughout this transfer window.

The newspaper uses the fact that Cabella was offered in Newcastle’s negotiations for Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan some weeks ago as evidence for this. 

He has been training with the Newcastle first team since last week and even though neither Florian Thauvin nor Rémy Cabella have agreed to the swap deal that Newcastle & Marseille have brokered at the time of writing, Cabella is seemingly resigned to a return to France.
