NWA Leaving Atlanta Studio Set For 2020 Crockett Cup

The National Wrestling Alliance has confirmed that the Crockett Cup, otherwise known as the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Tag Team Tournament, will return in April 2020.

A specific date and location was not mentioned, however, in announcing the big news during Friday night’s Hard Times pay-per-view, Stu Bennett noted that it would not take place at the NWA studio set in Atlanta, as they will be using a bigger venue.

The Crockett Cup original ran as a massive interpromotional tag team tournament from 1986 to 1988. It was resurrected in 2019 with a smaller lineup, but still featured talent from across ROH, NJPW and CMLL. It was won by Villain Enterprises’ PCO and Brody King, who were awarded the vacant NWA World Tag Team Championships.
