Official | Éric Roy takes charge of Brest until end of season
Relegation battlers Brest have this afternoon announce that Éric Roy would be taking charge until the end of the season, taking over after Michel Der Zakarian was dismissed from his position back in October.
The Bretons currently find themselves down in 17th place, having only won three games all season. Éric Roy takes up his first managerial position in over a decade, having been at the helm of hometown club Nice between 2010 and 2012, mostly working as a pundit for French TV afterwards.
Roy, who started and ended his career at Les Aiglons and had spells at Lyon and Marseille, also held a director’s role at Watford. He takes charge of his first Brest training session today ahead of the Coupe de France trip to Avranches this weekend. The trio of coaches that had been in charge on an interim basis until now – Julien Lachuer, Bruno Grougi and Yvan Bourgis – remain in their positions.
