Lyon have today announced the appointment of Rudi Garcia as their new Head Coach with immediate effect, signing a contract until June 2021 in the process.

In a surprising turn of events, with ex-PSG and France boss Laurent Blanc long believed to be the front-runner, Lyon decided to make the appointment of Rudi Garcia after he impressed the board with a detailed presentation over the weekend.

Garcia brings with him just one assistant, Claude Fichaux, who worked with him at Marseille, Lille and AS Roma.
