Official | Wesley Sneijder signs 1-year OGC Nice contract

Wesley Sneijder has officially completed the signing of former Real Madrid and Inter Milan attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder on a free transfer.

The new number 10 will join straight up with his new club following his departure from Turkish club Galatasaray, where the Dutchman requested that his contract be terminated so he could go looking for a new place to ply his trade.

Various clubs had been mentioned in wanting Sneijder, most notably Serie A side Sampdoria and new MLS franchise Los Angeles FC, but Ligue 1 is the new destination for the former Champions League winner, joining Mario Balotelli and Dante in having that honour.

The 33-year-old may be getting on in years, hence the one-year-contract, but he will add a certain level of class and creativity to this already superb Nice side.
