Gonçalves, 3 – Played a semi decent performance, but let down by letting his frustration at his side’s performance come out in disciplinary issues which culminated in his sending off in the second half.

MARSEILLE (2 – Guendouzi, Sánchez)

Lopez, 6

Balerdi, 7

Bailly, 7

Mbemba, 6

Tavares, 7 – Another solid performance for Nuno Tavares in a Marseille shirt, with dynamism and high levels of energy down the left hand side. His runs caused Sporting problems, which led to fouls and cards and a lot of attacks in dangerous positions for Marseille.

Veretout, 7

Rongier, 7

Clauss, 6 – A positive performance from Clauss, who again threatened with his attacking runs and crossing ability. He was vital in Marseille’s domination in wider areas and in possession.

Harit, 8 – An outstanding performance from young Harit, who excelled in last week’s game by assisting and scoring. He continued in a positive fashion by assisting for Alexis Sánchez’s finish on the 30th minute.

Guendouzi, 7

Sánchez, 7 – Played extremely well between the lines, carried the ball in dangerous situations and showed real intensity in his pressing. Really calm under pressure to put Marseille two goals in front.
