Raphinha ‘asks Leeds to lower release clause’ amid transfer interest from Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich
RAPHINHA'S contract negotiations with Leeds have broken down, according to reports.
The winger has been a hit in West Yorkshire since signing in 2020 so Leeds are keen to extend his contract beyond 2024.
The club has reportedly offered to double Raphinha's wages but the two parties have still hit an impasse.
The sticking point is over Raphinha's release clause with the Brazilian determined to reduce the current fee of £70million, according to UOL Esporte.
Raphinha knows there is transfer interest from some high profile clubs around Europe and he wants to make sure they are not priced out of a deal.
Chelsea and West Ham were both linked with January moves for the 25-year-old.

But Bayern Munich are also said to be interested and could make a move this summer.
If so they could be challenged by Liverpool who are long-term admirers.
However, Barcelona are believed to be leading the race for the Leeds star with former player Deco, Raphinha's agent, in contact with the club.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano the Spanish giants are working on a deal but have yet to submit an offer.
