Fans of Impact Wrestling will likely be familiar with the name Robbie E. He made a name for himself in the promotion when he first joined back in 2010. He continued to compete there all the way up until 2017. When he parted ways with Impact, Robbie managed to hold the Television Championship, X Division Championship, and win the World Tag Team Championships as well. However, it looks like the time has come for him to show what he is made of in WWE. Following a successful WWE tryout months ago, the company announced earlier this month that Robbie had signed a contract and would be reporting to the Performance Center. Last night, he made his official debut for the NXT brand.

Robbie E made his debut for WWE during last night’s NXT live event in Sanford, Florida. For this show, he went by his real name, Robert Strauss. Although the show marked the first time that he stepped into a WWE ring, the former Impact Wrestling star did not actually wrestle on the show yesterday. Instead, he appeared as a manager for Saurav Gurjar and Rinku Singh, both of whom are fellow Performance Center recruits. Strauss’ work is paying off so far as Gunjar was able to defeat recent NXT signee Jonah Rock in singles action during the show. Strauss commented on making his NXT debut on Twitter shortly afterwards. It should be interesting to see if Robbie makes it to Full Sail University for an NXT television tapings any time soon.

Made quite an impression in the corner of @rinkusingh235 and @gurjar_saurav …In @WWENXT , I plan on building a BRAND! Tonight it began in #NXTSanford! #therobertstraussbrand pic.twitter.com/5uCcsBiKIV

Several pro wrestlers have pushed their children into becoming wrestlers themselves. Just this week, Rey Mysterio’s son, Dominick, made an appearance on SmackDown, and his father also trademarked the ring name “Prince Mysterio.” As for The Miz and Maryse, they will support their children if they ever decide to follow in their footsteps by becoming wrestlers. During an interview with ExtraTV, Miz said that he has always been a believer in following whatever your passions is. If they choose to pursue a different career, Miz says he would support them just the same. The Miz and Maryse announced last month that they will be having a second child this year, and their first daughter was only born last year, so there is still plenty of time until they decide what they want to do with their lives. Miz also discussed WrestleMania 35 and more during the interview.
