ROH to Sue WWE? Next WWE Tryouts, Death Before Dishonor Announced
Ring of Honor had been planning to host an event in Madison Square Garden for the first time ever during the weekend of WrestleMania 35 next year. However, it has since been confirmed that ROH will not be coming to MSG as the arena pulled out of their negotiations after talking with officials from WWE. On Wrestling Observer Radio, it was revealed that ROH officials are contemplating taking legal action against WWE due to the company allegedly blocking them from hosting a show in “The Garden.” It was also noted that it was Madison Square Garden that originally approached Ring of Honor to bring an event there because WWE currently does not use the arena very often.
WWE is always hiring and there is always room for new talent to join the NXT roster. As such, WWE will be hosting their next round of tryouts at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on June 27th. Quite a number of athletes and wrestlers have been confirmed to take part in the upcoming tryouts. According to PWInsider, independent wrestler Max Castor will be involved in the tryouts. Also, former Duke University football player Shaquille Powell and former NFL player Terence “TJ” Barnes will be trying out for a spot on the WWE roster. All these names and dozens of other athletes have now been scheduled for the tryouts that will be happening at the PC next week.
As reported earlier, Ring of Honor will not be able to host an event in Madison Square Garden any time soon, but that has not stopped the promotion from taking big risks. ROH has just announced the location for their Death Before Dishonor show this year and it will be held in a venue that is much larger than what the promotion typically runs for their events. Death Before Dishonor, along with a set of ROH tapings the following night, will be taking place on September 28th in the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas Nevada – which is a building that can seat over 9,000 fans. ROH has been attempting to book shows in bigger venues ever since Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks successfully sold over 10,000 tickets for All In earlier this year.
