December 24, 2020 Off By HotelSalesCareers

Hey guys, I figured that I would give you the Champ’s Report of the WWE Main Event/Smackdown Tapings at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario California. The arena was sold out and rocking from start to finish.

WWE Smackdown Spoilers (Airing 2/14)

Match #1

Christian, Sheamus, and Daniel Bryan vs The Shield

D-Bry was crazy over as usual. This was as good of a match as you would expect from these 6 men. They all shined during this match. Sheamus entered the ring while Christian and Dean Ambrose were both legal. The Celtic Warrior tried to Brogue Kick the United States Champion, but Ambrose ducked and Captain Charisma ate the kick. Before Sheamus could react, he gets Speared by Roman Reigns. This allows Ambrose to cover Christian and get the 1-2-3.

Winners: The Shield

Backstage, Zeb Colter asks Vickie Guerrero to give Jack Swagger a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Vickie brings up the fact that Swagger has been on a losing streak and she denies the request. She is however, willing to give Swagger a shot at the Intercontinental Title if he can win the Number 1 Contenders Match she has made. It will be Jack Swagger vs Mark Henry vs Kofi Kingston vs Rey Mysterio in a Fatal 4 Way Match.

Match #2

Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter vs Mark Henry vs Kofi Kingston vs Rey Mysterio in a Fatal 4 Way Match to determine the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship

Another really good match here. Big E joined Michael Cole and JBL on commentary. Rey Mysterio took a lot of abuse during this match and Mark Henry spent most of the match on the outside. Match ends when Kofi goes for Trouble in Paradise on Swagger, but it’s countered into the Patriot Lock. Kofi taps out.

Winner: Jack Swagger

A Lita Hall of Fame package airs. I’m happy for her.

Match #3

Eva Marie vs Alicia Fox w/Aksana

Boring……Eva Marie looks good in her outfit and won with an rollup. 1-2-3.

Winner: Eva Marie

Cue Bad News Barrett. He has some bad news. It’s Valentines Day and Women are going to eat a lot of chocolate and gain a lot of weight. Ok.

An Alexander Rusev hype promo airs.

Match #4

Cody Rhodes, Goldust and The Usos vs The New Age Outlaws, Curtis Axel and Ryback

Cue the Goldberg chants for Ryback. This match was a lot of fun to watch. The Usos hit the Superkick/Splash combination on Road Dogg and get the 1-2-3.

Winners: Cody Rhodes, Goldust and The Usos

A snippet of the weekly Triple H/Michael Cole interview airs. The WWE COO announces that the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony will air in its entirety on the WWE Network and it will be Live.

Match #5

Damien Sandow vs Darren Young

Sandow sure has fallen since he failed to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank Contract. Titus O’Neil was on commentary. This is where a little CM Punk chant broke out. Darren wins with a quick Rollup. 1-2-3.

Winner: Darren Young

After the match, Titus and Darren go at it. Darren ends up ripping his former tag team partners’ pants. Ummmmmmm….Yeah.

Match #6

Fandango w/Summer Rae vs The Miz

A slow match that was interrupted by Santino Marella’s Theme Song. Santino and Emma Power Walk to ringside (much to the dismay of Summer Rae). A Catfight between Emma and Summer Rae breaks out and this distraction allows Santino to hit Fandango with the Cobra and Miz gets the win.

Winner: The Miz

Main Event

Cesaro w/ Zeb Colter vs Randy Orton

No more Antonio for Mr. Cesaro. Zeb was trying to get the crowd to chant “We the People” and it actually worked during this Non-Title Match. All of the usual spots took place. Randy was in the Cesaro Spin for about 15 seconds. Cesaro hit a sick Uppercut and followed it up with the Neutralizer to get the upset 1-2-3.

Winner: Cesaro

Smackdown ended with Zeb and Cesaro in the ring chanting “We the People”

End of show

Post Show

Corporate Kane comes out and demands an apology from Daniel Bryan. D-Bry comes out and decides to attack his former tag team partner instead. Daniel eventually hits the Flying Knee attack to send the fans home happy.

There were some signs planted in the audience that said “Cesaro Section.” Looks like they are starting to call Antonio Cesaro as just Cesaro now, as this is the second time they’ve called him that tonight. Fast back and forth action to start with Orton ducking out of the ring a few times. Strong cheers for Cesaro and loud We The People chants. Orton faked an injury outside and then roughed up Cesaro.
