The best celebrity Halloween costumes from 2019

And just like that, Halloween 2019 has finally rolled around.

Indulging in all that the spooky season has to offer, celebrities descended in full garb (see Lisa Rinna as Jennifer Lopez; Jessica Biel as husband Justin Timberlake circa NSYNC) onto the festive red carpets at Rande Gerber and George Clooney’s annual Casamigos party and Paris Hilton’s own Halloween bash in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles over the weekend.

Unlike the ordinary red carpet affair or typical awards show, each year celebrities meticulously pour over every detail of their Halloween costume often for months in advance, disguising themselves as fictional characters, viral memes or other celebrity couples. With Halloween giving way to a dress code where anything goes, this time of year lends itself to models, actors and musicians alike to experiment with their style and give their creative teams of hair and make-up artists room to let their imaginations flourish.

While Nina Dobrev channelled singer and Vogue cover star Billie Eilish, sporting the 17-year-old’s signature Louis Vuitton-branded matching sweats in a bright orange hue, Demi Lovato harked back to centuries past, opting for a Marie Antoinette-style costume. Elsewhere, New Zealand-born model Georgia Fowler masqueraded as Maleficent for the night, while Victoria’s Secret angel Sara Sampaio swapped out her usual wares for a prom queen dress with enough metallic pink shoulder padding and ruching to induce a scare.
