This is proof the bold print trend is back in a big way
When models walked the Michael Kors Fall 19 show in New York last February, the runway was awash in print. As per usual, the collection has translated into an extremely wearable edit in Michael Kors stores across the world and it’s safe to say we want each and every piece.
As the Fall collection lands in Australia and of course, online, there’s one key trend that sits at the forefront – bold prints. Whether it’s in an all-over leopard-inspired print or logomania, Michael Kors has announced that print is back in a big way and we’re all listening.
The best bit about print is it’s so wearable – it’s one of those runway trends that can still be worn on the street. When speaking to Vogue backstage at his Fall ‘19/’20 ready-to-wear show, Kors confirmed he designs with this in mind. “I am actually a street designer because the reality is what I design is that it’s for real life, it’s for the street,” he shared. “Sometimes that real life is heightened.”

As for how to wear it, Mr Kors recommends mixing bold prints with luxe logos for the ultimate street-chic look. Pair the Mini Leopard Matte Jersey Slip Dress with a textured sneaker and throw the Logo Jacquard Trench Coat across your shoulders to finish the look. The trench coat is the best investment to play around with this trend – featuring a tailored jacquard with contrasting panels, it’s covered in the classic Michael Kors logo, so it can elevate any outfit into this trend.
Kors has also designed a range of sequin-covered pieces perfect for the upcoming party season. The Sequined Handkerchief Dress is our pick, which can be dressed up with heels or down with one of the new season’s statement sneakers.
As for bags, the more print and textures, the better, this season. The Whitney Large Studded Saffiano Leather Tote Bag is your ultimate go-anywhere carry-all and even the brand’s suitcases have had the logo treatment, with the Bedford Travel Extra-Large Logo Stripe Suitcase on our wish list this season.
