Tomás Cubelli Injury Update
The Brumbies have been dealt a major blow after Argentinian scrum-half Tomás Cubelli suffered a tendon injury during the the pre-season trial match against the Waratahs at Glen Willow Regional Sports Stadium in Mudgee on Saturday.
The Brumbies have confirmed that the Puma’s scrumhalf ruptured his patellar tendon after seeing a specialist in Sydney this morning.

Cubelli is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will begin his rehabilitation with the Brumbies straight away. He is set to miss the start of the Super Rugby Season and a return date is yet to be confirmed.
The injury adds further salt into the Brumbies’ wounds after they were handed a 53-17 defeat by the Waratahs in the trial match in Mudgee.
Tries to Waratahs stand in captain Jack Dempsey, Jake Gordon, Reece Robinson (2), Bryce Hegarty, Andrew Kellaway, Matt Lucas, Irae Simone and Tolu Latu sealed the convincing win.
Prior to sustaining the injury, Cubelli had managed to grab a try for the Brumbies along with Josh Mann-Rea and Tom Banks.
The Brumbies will play in the Brisbane Tens for their final pre-season hit out while the Waratahs have a February 16 trial against the Highlanders at Brookvale Oval.
