WWE SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan stormed off the set of the brand’s post-show, “Talking Smack,” following Tuesday night’s live show on USA Network during a promo by WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz.

The segment kicked off with The Miz running down the GM for not being on the blue brand’s first show following the SummerSlam pay-per-view on Sunday, where he told Bryan that he successfully defended the Intercontinental Title, the last title Bryan himself held before retiring, against Apollo Crews.

When he brought up the fact that he’s doing the same thing Bryan was doing before he retired, which is to try to add value and importance to the I-C title, Bryan tore into Miz, claiming that when he was on the independent scene paying his dues, Miz was someone the guys would point to as the “stereotypical soft WWE wrestler.”

Miz fired right back at Bryan, saying he wrestles the way he does because he’s can do it, and has done it, for 10-plus years without getting injured. He got out of his chair and laid into Bryan about promising the fans that he would be back to regain the Intercontinental Title and never coming through on that promise.

Bryan responded to the comment, saying WWE wouldn’t let him come back, to which Miz swatted away and countered by saying if he loves wrestling as much as he claims, he’d quit WWE and “go to the indy halls.” He said Bryan may call him a coward, but pointed out Bryan is the one who isn’t wrestling in a WWE ring anymore, while he is.

It was at this point that Bryan took as headset off, and walked off the set of the show. As he left, The Miz continued to cut him down, calling him a coward and saying he isn’t one, he’s the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
