WATCH: John Cena Returns As “Doctor Of Thuganomics” At WrestleMania

In perhaps the most unexpected moment of an incredible, seven-hour WrestleMania event this Sunday night at MetLife Stadium, 16-time world champion John Cena made his highly anticipated return to the squared circle — but he didn’t do so in traditional, brightly-colored style.

After a video package aired highlighting the history of professional baseball’s greatest legend, Babe Ruth, thoroughly confusing more than 80,000 screaming fans packed inside the venue, Cena made his way to the ring clad in a New York Yankees jersey, sporting The Babe’s iconic number.

That wasn’t the only throwback The Champ brought with him, as Cena actually came out to his old “Doctor of Thuganomics” theme song, complete with steel chain around his neck and vintage “Word Life” brass knuckles on his fingers. Check out the footage below:
