Actresses and absolute powerhouses Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain, who met while filming Dark Phoenix, reunited over dinner in Paris for Vogue. Treating viewers to an intimate look at the dynamic of their friendship, the stars touched on everything from past roles to future plans while dining at Yard restaurant.
“I was terrified to meet you,” Turner told Chastain, who talked about the health reasons behind her decision to go vegan 14 years ago, the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to her on set, and how she overcomes the fear of auditioning. “I hate meeting celebrities, idols, because I just embarrass myself.”
While sipping on wine, the pair savoured entrees of asparagus, before Turner dined on mashed potato and duck, and Chastain on a dish of zucchini. Chamomile tea was their choice of desert.
“I get so nervous going into auditions that I almost always fuck it up,” Turner said, before confessing that when she was young, she used to pee herself on stage. How does she combat this now? By storing a $100 note in her pocket for a boost of confidence – a tip she says her husband Joe Jonas taught her.
“Don’t think of them as testing you out… it’s like a scene class and their job is to direct you,” Chastain, who revealed she was handpicked by Al Pacino to audition for Salomé, advise her friend. “You are in the control seat, it’s you that’s playing the role, you own the character physically.”

Turner also touched on her aspirations to direct films, too. Particularly one about her “very intense friendship” with Game of Thrones costar, Maisie Williams. “We want to write a movie about a friendship where it’s kind of like you’re soulmates, but you’re friends,” she told Chastain. “I bought a screenplay writing book!”
