Finally getting a royal of their very own, Americans might have been expected to treat the arrival of baby Sussex with the same fan-fare that accompanied the Royal wedding last May.
After all, the announcements around the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new son Archie Harrison have been timed to coincide with America’s prime time TV breakfast shows, including his first photo call on Wednesday morning.
But in fact American media reports were fairly muted: the New York Times and the Washington Post, two of the country’s biggest newspapers, carried news of the birth below the fold. The family’s first public appearance was also fairly low down their homepages, suggesting there was limited interest…
