WWE Conference Call Highlights: More Performance Centers On the Way, Vince Touts WWE Success, Television Deals
WWE held a conference call this morning to recap the second quarter financials and take questions from investors. Present on the call were Vince McMahon and Co-Presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson.
Below are some call highlights via PWInsider.com.
Vince McMahon opened the call and touted the strong second quarter WWE financial results, as well as the overall state of the company financially.
George Barrios took over and noted the following:
-Live event attendance is stagnant, but the company has shifted from a live event focus to TV and media, putting them in a great spot as digital views are up big. Focus was specifically placed on the distribution of the digitalization of the WWE product.
-The company estimates the paid WWE Network subscriber count will likely fall to 1.67 in quarter three.
-New UK and India TV deals are expected to be signed by the end of the year of next year.
-When the new TV deals kick in in 2019, the company will attempt to increase its revenue stream by investing in digital content, and the depth and breadth will be different. Taking the Performance Center global is made sense for WWE, and that is something the company plans to keep doing.
-Little details were provided about Greatest Royal Rumble and the upcoming WWE Super Show-Down in Australia, as confidentiality agreements are in place which prohibit too much information from being released.
