WWE Interested in Mae Young Classic Participant? Total Divas News

The Mae Young Classic tournament last year featured a ton of incredibly talented women from all around the world compete in a WWE ring last year to win the tournament’s trophy. While most of the 32 women involved proved to be unique during the show, Tessa Blanchard was perhaps one of the true standouts during the tournament. Blanchard is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard, and is also the step-daughter of Magnum TA. Despite being eliminated in the first round of the tournament, her match against the woman who would go on to win the Mae Young Classic, Kairi Sane, was cited by fans as being one of the best matches in the entire tournament.
At just 22-years-old, Blanchard definitely has a bright future in professional wrestling, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has just confirmed that WWE officials were impressed by Blanchard when they were scouting talent during a recent Shimmer event. Blanchard is confirmed to appear at a number of independent shows later this year, including Cody Rhodes’ All In event on September 1st, so a possible WWE signing won’t be taking place for a while. Some rumors have suggested that Blanchard may have a bit of a problem with her attitude backstage, but WWE has used her for some NXT shows in the past. Paige officially announced her retirement from the ring during Raw earlier this week, but she has since been named as the new General Manager of Smackdown. Some fans also noticed what appeared to be Paige involved in some new material for the E! network’s Total Divas reality show in New Orleans during WrestleMania weekend. As it turns out, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed that Paige and Sonya Deville will be joining the cast of the upcoming season of the show. Smackdown’s Liv Morgan was also reported to have been filming material with Lana last weekend, so it definitely seems possible that she could also be joining the cast for the next season of Total Divas.
