Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Rusev, Lana & Roman Reigns Kick Off RAW

WWE RAW kicks off this week from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California with RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte in an in-ring segment. Their match at WWE Hell In A Cell on October 30th is now going to be a Hell In A Cell cage match for the RAW Women’s Championship.

Now, Rusev and Lana come down to the ring while Sasha and Charlotte are still in there. Lana talks a bunch of trash to both ladies. Rusev isn’t impressed that the two headlined last week’s RAW in their RAW Women’s Championship bout. Rusev and the ladies fight over the microphone back-and-forth for a while. Eventually, both Sasha and Charlotte push Lana down to the mat and then knock Rusev out of the ring.

Eventually, WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns makes his way down to the ring. Rusev looks like he’s getting ready for battle against Reigns but instead decides to tuck his tail between his legs and head to the back. Reigns holds his U.S. Title up proudly in the ring, where Sasha and Charlotte are still at.

We head to a commercial break as the RAW announce team informs us that later in the show this evening, Paul Heyman will address Bill Goldberg’s comments on ESPN last week. Stay tuned, more WWE RAW to come …

The New Day Ready For WWE Hell In A Cell PPV

When we return from commercial, out come the RAW Tag-Team Champions — The New Day. Big E., Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods talk about their upcoming title defense against the team of Cesaro and Sheamus at the RAW-exclusive Hell In A Cell PPV on October 30th. They claim they will show both Cesaro and Sheamus why they are the best.

Cesaro vs. Kofi Kingston

One-on-one action will officially kick things off inside the squared circle this week, as Kofi Kingston will be going against Cesaro. With that being said, Cesaro makes his way down to the ring.

As Cesaro makes his entrance, Sheamus simply comes out and walks past him down to the ring. Sheamus is streaming live on Facebook during this match and isn’t paying attention to his “partner” at all.

Meanwhile, the Kingston-Cesaro match gets going and both guys take turns in the offensive lead. We head to a mid-match commercial. Stay tuned …

We’re back from the break and we see Cesaro blasting Kingston with an elbow off the top-rope. We see some highlights of action that took place during the break. Kingston starts to fight back and mount some offense. He goes for his Trouble In Paradise kick but misses the mark. Cesaro blasts him with a running uppercut.

Cesaro starts nailing Kingston with running uppercuts from corner-to-corner in the ring. Kingston tries springboarding into the ring off the ropes but gets tied up and botches the spot. After that, Sheamus and Xavier Woods start to get into it at ringside. Big E. now runs over to get involved. Cesaro is distracted by this, so Kingston, ever the opportunist, takes advantage and manages to roll him up for the 1-2-3 and the win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Still To Come … Mixed Tag-Team Action

RAW General Manager makes Roman Reigns and Sasha Banks vs. Rusev and Charlotte in mixed tag-team action for later in the show tonight. We head to another commercial break …

Bayley vs. Cami Fields

We head back to the ring for our second match of the evening, which features former NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, who is from nearby, as she lives in the San Jose area (RAW is in Oakland tonight).

Bayley will be going against local enhancement talent Cami Fields. Bayley starts off in the offensive lead but before you know it, Cami starts taking over control of the match.

Things didn’t go that well for Cami long-term, as she eats a Bayley-To-Belly suplex out of nowhere. Bayley covers her. 1-2-3. Bayley wins.

Winner: Bayley

After The Match: Dana Brooke Attacks Bayley

After the victory, Bayley celebrates a bit and then begins to head to the back. As she reaches the top of the entrance stage, she is attacked from behind by Dana Brooke. Dana beats down Bayley and leaves her laying as the fans boo.

Still To Come …. Foley To Address Sasha Banks-Charlotte HIAC Match

Still to come, WWE RAW General Manager Mick Foley will address the Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte RAW Women’s Championship match, which was just altered to be a title match inside Hell In A Cell, marking the first time in WWE history that two female performers will do battle inside the demonic structure. We head to another commercial break. Stick with us ….

Backstage: Chris Jericho, Mystery Phone Call & R-Truth’s Payday

Backstage, we see Chris Jericho on the telephone with someone, but we aren’t told who it is. Jericho rants and raves to the person on the other end of the phone about how good he is. He tells the mystery person to “do their job and get him that big payday.”

R-Truth enters the scene and must have overheard Jericho, as he literally handed him a Payday candy bar. Jericho doesn’t find it funny. We move on.

Sin Cara & Lince Dorado vs. Drew Gulak & Tony Nese

It’s time to head back to the ring, and from the looks of it — we have Cruiserweight Tag-Team action coming up next, as Drew Gulak and Tony Nese stand in the ring waiting for their opposition.

Out comes Lince Dorado, who is the first of Gulak and Nese’s two Cruiserweight opponents.. His tag-team partner for this evening, Sin Cara, who we are told is now officially part of the RAW Cruiserweight division, makes his way down to the ring next.

Gulak and Dorado will be starting things off for their respective teams. Gulak tags out fairly quickly. In comes Nese, who eats a big boot courtesy of Dorado. Sin Cara tags in and picks up where Dorado left off.

Sin Cara and Dorado do a good job of taking advantage of opportunities. Now, Gulak and Nese are also implementing some effective tag-team style tactics. It helps them get back in the match, as they are now taking control of the offense.

The pace picks up now as it feels like we’re nearing the finishing sequence. Sin Cara dropkicks Nese off the ring apron and out to the floor. Dorado now tags in Sin Cara, who hits a spectacular dive out onto Nese on the floor.

Meanwhile, back in the ring, Dorado is having his way with Gulak. He heads to the top-rope. Dorado hits a Shooting Star Press onto Gulak off the top-rope. 1-2-3. That’s all she wrote.

Winners: Sin Cara & Lince Dorado

Backstage: Mick Foley & Stephanie McMahon

Backstage, RAW GM Mick Foley is shown making his way to the ring, as up next he will address the first-ever women’s Hell In A Cell match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte.

Foley bumps into Stephanie McMahon, who compliments him on his custom flanel suit before saying she would like to join him in the ring for his Hell In A Cell Address. He says that would be great. We head to commercial break.

Hell In A Cell Address With Mick Foley, Stephanie McMahon, Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens

We return from the break to see RAW GM Mick Foley, accompanied by RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, making their way down to the ring for their joint-Hell In A Cell Address.

Foley brings up the fact that Sasha Banks and Charlotte want to have a Hell In A Cell match at the upcoming WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view on 10/30. Foley says they don’t get what they want, but they do get what they deserve.

With that being said, Foley officially confirms the Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte RAW Women’s Championship match as the first-ever women’s Hell In A Cell match as well. Additionally, Foley announces that the Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins match for the WWE Universal Championship will also be contested inside Hell In A Cell.

Of course, this brings out Owens, along with his best friend, Chris Jericho. The two complain about Owens-Rollins being changed to a Hell In A Cell match. Owens says he doesn’t want to end up “some broken, washed up GM” like he claims Foley is. Jericho accuses Foley of not liking him for the past 19 years. With that said, Jericho puts Foley on “The List.”

Eventually, Stephanie McMahon announces that the Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho match scheduled for tonight’s RAW will now feature an added stipulation — if Jericho beats Rollins, he will be added to the Universal Title Hell In A Cell match on 10/30. Jericho smiles as Owens looks stunned.

Backstage: Charly Caruso Interviews Seth Rollins

Backstage, new WWE broadcast team member Charly Caruso catches up with “The Architect” Seth Rollins. Rollins questions how Owens feels about the possibility of Jericho being added to their match at the upcoming Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

Rollins goes on to say he is the man who is going to destroy the machine “piece by piece.” Rollins welcomes Caruso to RAW and walks off. We head back to another commercial break.

Sami Zayn & Neville vs. Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas

The revived tag-team of Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas make their way out to the ring, as they are scheduled to face Enzo Amore & Big Cass in tag-team action next.

Enzo Amore has his own custom microphone now. He does his usual catchphrases and entertaining/witty trash-talk before getting jumped by The Club — Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

Anderson and Gallows beat down both Amore and Cass and leave them laying. It doesn’t look like that is going to bode well for their upcoming match with Axel and Dallas. We head to another commercial break …

We’re back from commercial and we hear Axel say he and Dallas aren’t going to leave the ring until they have a match. He says he wants to prove to Bo Dallas that he still believes in him.

This leads to an “impromptu” tag-team match between Axel and Dallas and the team of Sami Zayn and Neville. The two former NXT World Champions make their way down to the squared circle.

The Axel & Dallas vs. Zayn & Neville tag-bout didn’t last long, as Zayn nailed Axel with his Helluva Kick finisher and Neville hit his Red Arrow finisher off the top-rope for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Sami Zayn & Neville

Backstage: Lana & Charlotte

Backstage, Lana approaches former RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte. She said she had no rights to put her hands on her earlier. She said she isn’t the jealous type but feels the need to point out the fact that Charlotte is only Rusev’s “partner” for one night — tonight — while she is his partner for life. She warns Charlotte to stay out of Rusev’s way in the mixed-tag-team match tonight or there will be consequences for her to deal with.

R-Truth vs. Titus O’Neil

We head back to the ring for our next match of the evening. O’Neil uses his size and strength advantage early on to dominate the smaller Truth. Truth starts utilizing kicks and using his speed advantage to his benefit, as he begins to mount some offense on the big guy.

O’Neil cuts Truth’s offensive spurt short with a big boot to the grill. O’Neil picks Truth up and repeatedly slams him down across his knee.

Ultimately, O’Neil, who dominated the majority of the brief match, got distracted when Goldust tried cheering Truth on from the outside. This allowed Truth to roll-up the big man from behind for the 1-2-3.

Winner: R-Truth

Backstage: TJ Perkins and Brian Kendrick Get Physical

Backstage, WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins approaches Brian Kendrick and gives him one final opportunity to be the good guy that Perkins claims he is.

Despite the offer, Kendrick instead decides to cheap-shot Perkins, however the Cruiserweight Champion saw his sneak-attack coming this time and was able to stop him before he could do anything. Perkins ends up blasting Kendrick instead.

Braun Strowman vs. The Splash Brothers

Well, Braun Strowman demanded RAW GM Mick Foley find him a better level of competition. I guess this counts.

Instead of Strowman facing one local enhancement talent in a nothing-happening match, he faced and easily beat two local enhancement talents, who are collectively known as “The Splash Brothers.”

Winner: Braun Strowman

Roman Reigns & Sasha Banks vs. Rusev & Charlotte (with Lana)

It’s time for the mixed-tag-team match that was made after tonight’s opening segment, as WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns teams up with RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks to take on the duo of Rusev and Charlotte, who of course will also have Lana in their corner.

Reigns and Rusev kick things off for their respective teams, however it isn’t long before a confident Charlotte tags herself in. This also brings Sasha Banks into the match.

Wait, not so fast.

Rusev ends up force-tagging himself back in and he and Reigns pick up where they left off moments ago.

Reigns beats down “The Bulgarian Brute” and calls for the Superman Punch. Before he can do anything, however, Charlotte grabs his leg to stop him. Sasha Banks rushes over to deal with Charlotte. We head to a mid-match commercial break.

When we return from commercial, Rusev is controlling Reigns in a headlock. Charlotte ends up tagging herself back in again and this time she and Sasha go at it for a couple of minutes.

Eventually, Charlotte goes to roll up the RAW Women’s Champion, only for “The Boss” to counter her attempt with her Bank Statement finisher. Rusev rushes in to try and save his team from losing, however he is met with a vicious Spear from Reigns. Charlotte taps out.

Winners: Roman Reigns & Sasha Banks

Paul Heyman Calls Out Bill Goldberg

Paul Heyman heads to the ring to address comments made by Bill Goldberg during his appearance on last week’s ESPN/WWE “Off The Top Rope” segment.

Heyman ends up issuing a formal challenge to “Da Man” to face his client, “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar.

“Goldberg, you sir are hereby challenged to a fight!” said Heyman during the segment. “One-on-one, icon vs. icon, Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg!”

Editor’s Note: Bill Goldberg took to Twitter to respond to Paul Heyman’s challenge immediately after this segment aired. Goldberg’s response read as follows:

“Booking my flight to answer that big mouth Paul Heyman’s challenge next week in person on Monday Night RAW.”

TJ Perkins vs. Ariya Daivari

WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins and Ariya Daivari are up next in one-on-one action here at WWE RAW in Oakland, California.

Perkins immediately sends Daivari sailing out of the ring. He knocks him down once he re-enters the squared circle and then hits a springboard crossbody off the ring ropes.

Perkins gets Daivari in a kneebar, however Daivari makes it to the ropes, forcing the referee to break the submission hold.

In the end, Perkins hits a neckbreaker and drops Daivari into his knees in a cool move before re-applying the kneebar. This time, Daivari doesn’t make it to the ropes. Instead, he taps out. Perkins wins.

Winner: TJ Perkins

Chris Jericho vs. Seth Rollins

Remember, as declared by RAW GM Mick Foley and RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon earlier in the show, if Jericho manages to beat Rollins in this, our main event of the evening, he will officially be added to the upcoming Hell In A Cell match for the WWE World Championship between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins at the upcoming WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

Jericho and Rollins both make their way to the ring and here we go with our final match of the evening. Rollins is handling Jericho with ease in the early goings of the contest.

Rollins remains comfortably in control of the action as he inflicts some more damage outside of the ring before bringing Jericho back inside to try and finish him off.

Just as “The Architect” rolls Jericho back in the ring, WWE Universal Champion and Rollins’ opponent at the upcoming WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, Kevin Owens, makes his way down to the ringside area as his music plays.

Owens can’t help himself, as he eventually gets involved in the action inside the ring in an attempt to get things to play out in his favor in regards to his upcoming WWE Universal Championship defense inside the demonic Hell In A Cell structure at the next RAW-exclusive PPV on October 30th.

Rollins ends up hitting a big dive onto both Owens and Jericho on the floor. The action resumes back inside the ring where we approach our finishing sequence.

Jericho nails Rollins with a Lionsault after “The Architect” missed a big Frogsplash attempt off the top-rope. Jericho now going to the top-rope himself. Rollins quickly gets back up and stops Jericho from doing whatever he had in mind.

Rollins and Jericho battle it out on the top rope until finally, Rollins nails Jericho in the mid-section. They’re back on the mat now where Rollins looks to hit Jericho with The Pedigree. Jericho reverses that attempt into a Walls Of Jericho submission attempt, however Rollins also reverses that into a roll-up. 1-2-3. Rollins wins and it will be just he and Owens, one-on-one, inside Hell In A Cell at the upcoming WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view on October 30th.

Rollins stares down a frustrated Owens, who is retreating to the backstage area now, while Jericho sells in the ring. RAW goes off the air with the announcers plugging various upcoming WWE-related programming and services.

Winner: Seth Rollins
