WWE Raw comes to you live tonight from Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, and tonight becomes Suplex City as we see the return of WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. The Beast returns tonight to address last week’s monstrous main event between Kane & Braun Strowman. The main event was supposed to name a new number one contender, but ended in a double count out. Now, Lesnar is left without a contender for his Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
Also, after Absolution was taken out by the entire women’s locker room last week, Mickie James, Bayley, & Sasha Banks get their shot at the new team. Will they be able to take out Paige’s new group, and how will Asuka play a part in all of this?
Lastly, will things get weirder as the war of words between Bray Wyatt and newly WOKEN Matt Hardy continues? Matt Hardy says he’s ready for the GreatWar, so will these two men finally meet face to face?
IN-RING SEGMENT
We start off Raw with Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle who is met with the normal adulation from the WWE Universe. Kurt starts by welcoming us to the show, and giving us a background on last week’s number one contendership match. Kurt says that by the end of the night, he will determine who the number one contender will be.
BRAAAAUUUUNNNN. Braun Strowman marches down to the ring with a purpose and stares Kurt Angle right in the eyes. He tells Kurt that he earned the opportunity to face Brock Lesnar. Last week, he was the only one left standing, and that is why he should be picked to be Brock’s opponent at the Royal Rumble. Suddenly we hear Kane’s music hit, and the Big Red Monster makes his way out to the ring.
Kane says that he has caused more destruction than anyone in the last 20 years. Kane notes that while Brock Lesnar’s path of destruction is impressive, and even includes his brother The Undertaker, it does not include him.
“LADIES AND GENTLEMAN…” Paul Heyman makes his way to the top of the ramp, and Heyman says that this discussion will not take place without the title holder. The reigning, defending, undisputed Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar!
ITS THE BEAST! Brock Lesnar makes his way out to the ring, and starts circling the ring, stalking his prey. Lesnar gets in the ring and raises the Universal Championship above his head in the face of his opponents. Kurt Angle makes the quick announcement that at the Royal Rumble, we will see a triple threat match, Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman vs. Kane!! Kurt Angle hightails it out of the ring, and it’s not long before all three men are going at it! Brock quickly knocks Strowman out of the ring, leaving Kane and Brock in the ring. Kane tries to chokeslam the beast, but Brock gets out and delivers a thunderous F5 to the big red machine! Brock heads up the ramp with his title, now knowing that at the Royal Rumble, it will be The Beast vs. The Machine vs. The Monster. The segment ends with Kane sitting up out of the F5 as Brock stares him down. What a start to Raw!
